In the 19th Century, commercial whalers hunted the right whale to the brink of extinction. That’s where the name came from, as whalers identified them as the ‘right’ kind of whale to hunt because of their valuable blubber.

Right whales are found in coastal waters and feed on plankton by swimming through a swarm of them with their mouths open. You can spot a right whale by the distinctive white calluses on its head, which have been reflected on this lifelike CollectA model.
